You will probably be arriving by plane to Athens. Athens handles the vast majority of flights, including all intercontinental traffic. The new Athens International Airport Eleftherios Venizelos, named after the greatest Greek political personality of the last century, was constructed in Spata and has improved the infrastructure significantly. The new airport can handle up to 16 million passengers per year with potential development to 50 million. Attiki Odos, the peripheral road bypassing most of Athens has reduces the travel time to Loutraki significantly.

Rent A Car

A small car should be charged about €30 per day and it may be useful to explore the area around Loutraki.

Try AutoEurope, AVIS or Hertz

The Attiki Odos means that you can effectively reach Loutraki on the motorway, bypassing all Athens Traffic. It normally takes about one hour drive, a bit less if you are familiar with the way. From Athens airport follow the signs for Elefsis and Corinth and just before you pass the Corinth Canal, after the second set of toll booths you meet, turn right towards Loutraki.

Our dedicated taxi driver Antonis Londos with his Avensis outside Hotel Segas

TAXI

Taxis in Greece are inexpensive and are good value even for long journeys, especially if you are travelling with friends. Taxis should be metered and you should ensure that the TaxiMeter is running. Drivers may pick up other passengers going to the same direction, but this will not reduce your fare. In Athens an empty taxi is often hard to find and Athenians feel privileged if they can get transport during the rush hour.

You can negotiate with a taxi driver at the Taxi rank at the airport for transportation to Loutraki. We estimate that the fare from/to the new airport is about €100. This is per journey for up to 4 passengers, depending on time, traffic, baggage etc. You should be VERY careful when negotiating. You should agree the price beforehand.

Alternatively if you fill the following form we will send you a local taxi driver from Loutraki to meet you at the airport. This will also cost about €100 Euros per journey for up to 4 passengers. These are fixed prices arranged by the Radio Taxi consortium in Loutraki (Tel: 00 30 27440 61000).

Our preferred driver is Antonis Londos (Mobile:+30 6945 512400). On top of Greek, Antonis speaks fluently English and Danish. You will have to pay to taxi driver directly as we only facilitate the process. We do not take a commission or handling fee and we do not accept any responsibility. If you send us your flight details we will pass them on to one of our reliable taxi drivers and he will wait for you on arrival. We will also give you his mobile number so you can communicate directly.

Hotel Segas TAXI TRANSFER RESERVATION FORM

Please arrange for me a Taxi transfer. I understand that you simply facilitate communication with the Taxi driver and you do not accept responsibility and that I will pay directly the driver at the end of the journey. The estimated cost is about €100 Euros per journey.

TRAIN

OSE TRAINS

The old trains are cheap but slow, with the exception of the express trains between Athens and Thessaloniki, which take six hours and fifteen minutes. Main routes run between Athens and Thessaloniki, Athens and Corinth, and Patra and Kalamata with international connections. The most spectacular rail journey in Greece is between Dhiakofton and Kalavrita.

You can reach Loutraki from Athens and with a connection at Isthmos from Patras, and other cities of the Peloponesse.

Normally it takes a couple of hours from Athens and costs about 3 Euros,

This is the indicative Train Schedule from Athens.

Hotel location and directions once at Loutraki

The hotel is located on the pedestrian street between the Central Square of Loutraki (25th March Square) and the Agios Ioannis Cathedral.  If you arrive by coach or train their stations are on the main road (Eleftheriou Venizelou). We are about 10 minutes walk from there or 2 minutes by taxi. If you arrive by car or taxi you also enter Loutraki through the Eleftheriou Venizelou street.

You will need to continue walking or driving on Eleftheriou Venizelou until you see the beautiful fountains on the 25th March Square. If you need directions ask people to point out the Alpha Bank  which is on the square. Ideally you can then turn right and reach the hotel. As it is a pedestrian road you will not be able to drive right outside the hotel. It is better if you park for a minute on one of the back streets, come and see us and then bring your luggage in.
